Local Business Leaders Recognize Catawba Valley Healthcare’s Expanded Mission
HICKORY, NC, June 2, 2022 —
Catawba Valley Healthcare, (CVH), hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday in Hickory, North Carolina to mark the nonprofit organization’s recent rebrand with a new look, logo, and expansion of services. The milestone was celebrated by staff and ambassadors of the business community in front of the CVH Hickory Clinic, one of two clinics the agency operates to help meet the needs of underserved populations across Catawba and Burke counties.
“In 2021, we rebranded from Catawba Valley Behavioral Healthcare to Catawba Valley Healthcare to incorporate the board of directors’ expanded mission to include primary care services, in addition to the brain health and social services we have offered for over 15 years. We recognize that the mind and body work together and must be treated together to achieve the best health outcomes,” said Deputy CEO Tim Lentz, LCSW.
CVH’s commitment to the community includes outpatient therapy, psychiatric treatment, peer support services, mobile crisis management, residential services, psychosocial rehabilitation, independent living, skills training, jail services, social services, and intensive team-based specialized case management and treatment.
CVH CEO John Waters, LCSW, praised his team at Thursday’s event for making the mission possible thanks to their dedication and hard work.
“Collectively it is our staff that every day demonstrates the heart and soul of our agency to those we serve. No matter their position or task, each does important and valuable work that makes a positive impact with individuals, families, and our community,” said Waters.
Speakers at the ceremony included industry leaders and notable members of the business community including Tree of Life Christian Academy Principal Andrea Walshak, Chamber of Catawba County President & CEO Lindsay Keisler and Hickory Mayor Hank Guess.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serves the general public and those with developmental and intellectual disabilities, those who are uninsured and underinsured, those who are homeless, those without documentation, and those who are incarcerated or recently incarcerated. CVH serves over 6,000 people yearly.
