The Application Process

Quality Management (full time)
Catawba Valley Healthcare seeks a QM/Training Director. CVH is a leader in our community, a truly integrated non-profit healthcare facility that practices a biopsychosocial model of care based on collaboration between all departments (Medical, Psychiatric, Therapy, and Outpatient). We have a strong focus on serving those with co-morbidities and patients who are uninsured or underinsured.
As an active member of the agency’s executive team, the QM/Training Director is expected to provide leadership in developing the agency’s annual quality improvement plan and ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures for credentialing and supervision of staff, monitoring of services, assurance of the safety of individuals served and effective outcomes, and review of adverse events and identification of improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the agency’s quality management system, including both its internal quality assurance and improvement activities
- Ensure across the entire agency that the content of training and education offerings is relevant to contemporary practice and that teaching methods are effective in changing the actual practice patterns of the staff trained.
- Bachelors Degree and 3 years experience using data to support the development of quality services, or Masters Degree and one year of experience using data to support the development of quality services.

ACTT Co-Occurring Specialist (full-Time)
Catawba Valley Healthcare seeks a full time qualified professional with at least two year’s experience to work as part of a ACT team based out of Hickory NC.
Responsibilities:
- Provide case management services to the individuals who meet criteria and choose to participate in the Assertive Community Treatment team
- 8 hour shift, Monday to Fridays, and weekends as needed
- Complete initial substance use assessments with individuals and develop a treatment plan based off of needs identified in the assessment
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and offer case management services including assistance in accessing resources, medication management, transportation
- Carry out rehabilitation and support functions that assist in treatment, substance use services, education, support and consultation to families, and crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of psychiatrist and team leader
- Must meet Qualified Professional criteria to include bachelor degree in human services 2 years experience with SPMI population
- Certification in SU as CCS, CCAS, CDAC or LCAS required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred

Mobile Crisis Clinician (full-time)
Catawba Valley Healthcare seeks a full-time Mobile Crisis Clinician responsible for providing community-based crisis services aimed at the prevention, intervention and immediate stabilization of crisis events experienced by persons related to mental health, substance use and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Use clinical processes and procedures to resolve the crisis, transport clients to community resources, and submit clinical documentation in a timely manner
- Work as part of a team covering Burke and Catawba counties
- Work 12 hours shifts (noon to midnight). There will be 4 weekend shifts per month, 7-9 on call shifts, and some holiday shifts
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team is highly important
- Bachelors or Master’s preferred in behavioral science field from an accredited college/university but not required
- Preference given to individuals who are clinically licensed in NC, to include: LCAS, or LCSW, LPC, LMFT. with CSAC
- Based on the immediate needs of the agency individuals may be hired that are actively seeking and under supervision for clinical licensure. QP level clinicians will be considered
- Must possess the ability to effectively hear and verbally communicate with consumers, customers, and other employees. Must have the ability to use a computer and software to perform job responsibilities
- Must provide crisis prevention/intervention/consultation services in community locations and residential settings. Some mobile crisis interventions will require law enforcement assistance

Psychiatric PA or NP (full-time)
Catawba Valley Healthcare seeks a licensed Psychiatric Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric care within a team environment. This position will work in conjunction with the current psychiatrists, mid-level providers, an other services within the agency.

IDD Group Residential Group Home Paraprofessional (overnight, full-time, Hickory location)
Catawba Valley Healthcare (CVH) is a non-profit organization that includes adult residential group home services as one of its programs. The group homes are located in Catawba County, NC. CVH has immediate openings for 1 Fulltime para professional.
The residents of the group homes are adults with behavioral health challenges.
Requirements:
- No skilled nursing care is required.
- Seeking staff for overnight shifts and week. Staff are not awake staff. 7 nights on and 7 nights off.
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency. Will drive a van as needed. Applicants must have a good driving record.

Outpatient Therapist
Catawba Valley Healthcare seeks a Licensed/Provisionally Licensed Therapist who will work in the beautiful foothills of western North Carolina, with easy access to the mountains and a four hour drive to the Atlantic coast beaches. The Licensed Therapist will provide treatment in the outpatient therapy department, full time or part time, working in a forward-thinking comprehensive community integrated health agency that values employees and the people we serve. In the outpatient therapy department, the Licensed/ Provisionally Licensed Therapist will complete comprehensive clinical assessments, provide individual and group therapy, as well as related case support. Prior experience providing treatment to individuals with serious mental illness, and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred. The Licensed/ Provisionally Licensed Therapist must be an advocate for individuals with behavioral health conditions. Previous experience working in a non-profit organization is a plus. Some non-traditional hours may be required depending on the position offered. Candidates must be licensed/provisionally licensed to practice as an LCSW, LMHC, LPA, or LMFT in North Carolina.
License/Certification: LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, LPA or associate level license (Preferred)
General Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in relation to treatment of individuals with mental illness or dual diagnoses.

ACT Team Lead (full-time)
Catawba Valley Healthcare seeks an ACT Team Leader.
- Provide effective oversight, direction, and clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and performance appraisals where appropriate. Ensure programs are fully staffed with qualified, trained employees.
- Ensure effective 24-hour, 7-day-a-week, 365-day-a-year coverage for individuals served as required by the program.
- Build and manage an effective and clinically sound team.
- Serve as a practicing clinician on the Assertive Community Treatment Team and coordinate the activities and services.
- Lead meetings and disseminate information to other ACTT staff from various sources.
- Monitors and assesses the quality of services of assigned programs including but not limited to conducting audits of charts, overseeing the peer review process, direct observation of staff, etc..
- Responsible for marketing the agency and program by developing appropriate referral sources, and by maintaining positive working relationships within the communities served, including individuals, families, staff, monitoring and licensing agencies, organizations, and funders.
- Attend and actively participate in community and agency meetings as assigned. Implement and monitor budgets as requested/directed by the supervisor.
- Monitor medical records management and activities of the Assertive Community Treatment Team to ensure compliance with agency policies, Medicaid, and other requirements
- Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state, and federal training requirements.

IDD Paraprofessional for Day Program (full-time)
CVH seeks a full-time paraprofessional for our IDD Center located in the Hickory, NC area.
- Assists in providing training to clients with severe or profound developmental disabilities
- Teach and guide clients to develop basic work, social, and living skills
- Train clients to acquire skills in independent living, self-help, adaptive behavior, pre-vocational, and community living
- Assist with the personal hygiene needs of clients
- Participates in person-centered planning
- Collects and records client data to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Transports clients to and from the Life Skills facility using a van
- Minimum of 25 years old to meet driving insurance requirements
- Must have a working knowledge of the developmental disabled population and must possess the knowledge and skill-building trainings through a variety of training techniques.
